WRASSE

Definition

Ctenolabrus spp. Fishes of the family Labridae that exhibit a symbiotic relationship, by removing ectoparasites and cleaning lesions from a host fish. An example of this symbiosis in aquaculture is goldscinny wrasse (Ctenolabrus sp) removing sea lice (e.g. genera Lepeophtheirus and Caligus) from salmon.
