TEA SEED CAKE

Definition

A selective fish poison containing 10-15% of the active ingredient saponin. After oil has been extracted from the seeds of Camellia, tea seed cake can be made from the resulting residue. As saponin is 50 times more lethal to fish than it is to shrimps, it is used in crustacean farming to remove fish predators or competitors.
