Definition
A viral disease of the skin and fins, affecting freshwater and marine fish, caused by the lymphocystis virus of the Iridovirus group. It seldom causes losses among wild and cultured fishes. Its main effect is to make a potential food fish aesthetically unappealing. There are no known effective control methods.
