MEDICATED FEED

Definition

Feed into which drugs or antibiotics have been added, usually on the farm site. Medicated feed is typically given to fish as a treatment, and not as a prophylactic. In general diseased fish have a depressed appetite, so that medicated diet may need to be contain attractants to encourage consumption by the fish. In many countries the application of medicated feeds is strictly regulated.
