Definition

(1) Used of characteristics or traits controlled by a single gene; monofactorial, unifactorial; cf. digenic. (2) Producing only male or only female offspring. (3) Used of asexually reproducing organisms, or asexual reproduction; monogenous.(4) Commonly used to describe parasites that complete their entire life cycle within a single host species.
