Lack of susceptibility; resistance. An inherited (innate) or experience-mediated (acquired) status in which various factors result in an individual, group or race being resistant or relatively resistant to the occurrence and effects of a specified adverse condition (for instance, the presence of an infectious agent or its toxic products).
