HYAMINE

Definition

A quaternary ammonium compound commonly used as a bath treatment (2-4 mg/l) in salmonid culture to control bacterial gill disease problems. At a water hardness below 100mg/l of calcium carbonate it should be used at lower concentrations because of its high level of toxicity in soft water.
