EPIDEMIOLOGY

Definition

The study of diseases or health factors and their relations with the population aand the environment. (1) Descriptive epidemiology: studies their characterization and their evolution in time and space. (2) Analytical epidemiology: studies the factors which are involved directly or indirectly in their occurrence. (3) Operational epidemiology: takes the descriptive and analytical data into account with the object of improving the health of the population.
